Supporting A Loved One With Mental Health – Sydney

It is confronting and isolating to witness someone you love battling their mind. And while the world moves on, you are left holding the weight of it all.

This workshop, delivered in collaboration with Keith's Closet, brings together mental health nurses, social workers and people with lived experience to create a space where carers can finally breathe, where they can ask the hard questions, be honest about the struggle, and feel truly supported. Participants will explore common mental health conditions, recognise signs and symptoms, build confidence in responding to difficult behaviours and conversations around refusing help, medication and sudden changes in mood.

The workshop will finish by turning the focus back to the people who so often put themselves last. Because caring for someone through their darkest moments is one of the most selfless things a person can do, and it comes at a cost. We will explore what it means to tend to yourself, not as an afterthought, but as a necessity, and every participant will leave with a wellbeing kit as a small, tangible reminder that their own care matters too.

Light lunch will be provided on the day.
