When R U OK? Opens the Door – Kingsford

Carers are often exposed to deeply challenging situations, including supporting someone experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviours. In alignment with R U OK? Day, “When “R U OK?” Opens the Door”, has been designed to equip carers with the confidence and skills to navigate these situations safely within their caring role.

This course will teach carers how to provide initial support to someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours, until professional help is received or the immediate crisis resolves. Participants will learn how to recognise warning signs, respond appropriately, listen without judgement, and encourage pathways to professional support.

A light lunch will be provided during the session to allow time for debriefing, reflection, and connection with fellow carers.
